Mrs. Hall’s African American Heroes Project
Due February 11, 2013
February is Black History Month. To celebrate the contributions of African Americans you areassigned a research project that highlights an African American who has made significant contributions to our world. This project will be conducted in 3 parts:
Research paper (PowerPoint, traditional paper, brochure, or video with write-up) (50 points)
Presentation (25 points)
Life-sized art form of person (25 points)
Research Paper Requirements
Your research should include the following:
Information about early childhood & family life
Major struggles
Major accomplishments
Contributions
Personal reflection (text-to- self perspective)
Resources for Research Paper Completed at School & Home
When conducting your research you will need to create a
bibliography.
A bibliography is a list ofbooks, articles, and other sources you used when researching a topic and writing a paper. The bibliography will appear at the end of your paper. You will be given a planning packet to help organize your research.
When researching you must use the following:
2-3 books
(list the title, author, date of publishing, and publisher in bibliography)
3-4 websites
(include the web address in your bibliography)
It is up to you to choose your person of interest. You may choose a person who has made contributions in the following areas:
Sports
Science
Education
The Arts
Politics
Civil Rights
